Birthday Rave

Valentine’s Day and Michael’s birthday are next to each other, so the opportunities to celebrate the two together are endless; especially as San. Valentin is big in Spain. We attended the Companians buffet dance, complete with surprise cake, and Happy Birthday serenade from the live quartet.
And yes the bottles belonged to the 8 other guests on our table as well! I won the table decoration to take home, and a good time was had by all
I have to say that we are having very mixed weather at present, cold and wet predominate, and the house is built to be cool. This has encouraged me to get more active. So I now have a residence permit, and am about to join HELP the ex pats group who offer different kinds of support. I am also sampling the U3A next Monday ,and starting advanced spanish lessons which will hopefully improve my vocabulary. These spanish lessons are free, and although there is a large foreign population in La Nucia, there will only be 6 in the class. Have to see how it goes.
Today I rode my bike for the first time to La Nucia, which took about 10 minutes, and then spent an hour trying to find the adult education, and the times of Mass. This brilliant guide to La Nucia, is unfortunately not very widely distributed, the tourist information had not heard of it, and the english man, who runs the internet shop, which is more like a community centre for foreigners, did not have a copy. It did however have a splendid inauguration in the auditorium.
We found an interesting alternative health centre in Calpe. The couple have several skills including colonic therapy, and hypnotherapy, and are happy to rent out their treatment room for a modest fee, so I am looking forward to introducing Ann to them when she arrives next week.
last week’s dry river bed walk. Next week Almond blossom in the Jalon Valley

It’s lovely to see the pair of you enjoying yourselves. It’s just like John and I used to be!
Have good students, and a fellow practice teacher and I support each other, both being off site.

I don’t like the sound of the colonic irrigation – are you planning to introduce your visitor, Ann, to it then??!!
The walks look great, though… and a good way to keep warm in your unseasonably cool spells.
The advanced Spanish sounds a good idea – I’m sure you’ll get a lot out of it (as long as you have a good enough teacher that is).
